Korty joined Gather in April 2021 as a volunteer. After trying almost every volunteer job, he landed in the Cooking 4 Community program. In 2024, he transitioned on staff as the manager of Seacoast Waste Not. Korty has been in the food and hospitality industry since he was 15 when he and a friend started their own catering business for adult cocktail parties. His interested followed him to working in a champagne bottling plant in France and later achieving a degree in Hotel Restaurant Management from the University of Massachusetts. 

The last 17 years of Korty’s career were spent as a food broker representing 30 food service manufacturers. Presently, he lives in Hampton with his wife Jane. He has two adult children in NH and Texas. His love of the outdoors takes him hiking, biking, sailing, and paddleboarding whenever he can.
